And I’ve been writing during the COVID-19 shut down, including a short that’s been placing in various script competitions. Should be in production late 2020 or early 2021.

I had a good time appearing in The Good Doctor, ep. 108. Fun cast, great director and crew, nice shooting atmosphere. Nice to see how the show’s really found a place in ABC’s continuing lineup.

An Actor’s Showcase: A Series of Scenes
22 actors. 11 scenes.
Mine, a charming/funny/surprisingly-romantic scene from Paddy Chayefsky’s Middle of the Night, was acted with a wonderful young actress named Catherine Churchill and we cracked up the audience. Lots of fun was had by all.
Recently finished filming a short film I co-wrote and co-produced with director Stefano Casadei. It’s a twist on the more political PUNITIVE DAMAGES which I did a few years ago. This time with way better production values, for which I credit the eye and brilliance of Stefano and our DP, Marc Yungco.

2014’s big acting event for me was a political short film called Punitive Damages. A little two-hander I wrote, produced, directed, and acted in with the wonderful Catherine Jack. A great learning experience that kicked me into a major screenwriting education. Hopefully more to come on that end.
Fast forward through a year of learning and study in the Actor’s Foundry…
As the movie and television production has ramped up in Vancouver, my acting career is starting to follow suit. An short actor role in The Man in the High Castle. Another in Timeless. And one coming up in Rogue.
Having a blast.
So Plank Magazine caught up with Flashes and gave us a nice review. Thanks, Lisa Barrett! Now if only they’d mentioned the neon-powered glow sticks we want everyone to bring to the performances…

PS- I should note, for anyone who hasn’t seen the show or read the bios on our Flashes web page, that Candace Woods unfortunately had to drop out of the show, but we were blessed to have the delightful Ellen MacNevin step in. Everyone in our cast of five, plus the director/writer, AD/set designer, stage manager, and sound designer, have all been a joy to work with. Lots of fun bringing a new play to life.

While gridlocked on Toronto's Gardiner Expressway, detective Andrew Walker must come to terms with a lost cause. Based on acclaimed science fiction author Robert J. Sawyer's short story, Flashes explores the consequences of futureshock on a primitive society: ours.
Time for some fun. I’ll be appearing as a Toronto police detective stuck in a Gardiner Expressway traffic jam while the world around me is coming apart, shaken hard by some unexpected future shock. Based on a short-story by acclaimed Toronto SF writer, Rob Sawyer, Flashes is a clever little look at how adaptable (or not!) we are as a species.
In this production, I get to work with a couple actresses I know well – Jenn Koenig and Candace Woods – along with some faces new to me who really know how to fill the stage. Gonna rock this thing!
